Burt Frisselle Joins Kodak Dallara for Miller Finale
(Cincinnati, OH) 12 September 2008 – It will be in a different car and with different co-drivers, but for Burt Frisselle things will have a familiar feel as he moves from one Ford-powered Dallara to another to drive the No. 77 Kodak with Memo Gidley and Brad Jaeger in the Rolex Sports Car Series season-finale SunRichGourmet.com 1000 next weekend.
Frisselle, who finished fifth in the 2006 Miller event, will try to help the No. 77 Kodak-liveried Dallara score points toward the 2008 team championship standings for Doran Racing.
I’m happy to get this opportunity to run with Memo and Brad, said Frisselle. I hated watching the race in New Jersey instead of running in it, so this will be a great chance to have a good run before getting things started on 2009. The Dallara won the Infineon round and was on the podium again in New Jersey, so the program certainly seems to be gaining momentum. I’m hoping we can keep adding to that progress with a good run out at Miller.
Frisselle has run a limited schedule during the 2008 season, teaming with Ricky Taylor in the No. 47 Brach’s machine in the second half of the year and taking seven top-ten results in the chassis’ first year of Rolex Sports Car Series competition.
We are still working to get our plans for next year finalized and hope to have something to announce soon, said Frisselle. We know we have all the ingredients we need to be really strong next year but we just need to sort out the commercial side of the program so we can run the full schedule. But for this weekend at Miller it’s all about doing as well as we possibly can to help Brad and Memo and try to get this 77 a few more spots in the final championship standings.
The SunRichGourmet.com 1000 will take the green flag at 11:00 AM local time on September 20, with SPEED bringing live coverage of the 1000-kilometer event.
