Burt and Brian Frisselle Target Strong Season Finish in Home Race for Doran Racing

(Lexington, OH) 14 September 2011 – Burt and Brian Frisselle return to GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series competition this weekend for the EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as the brothers join together in the No. 77 Doran Racing Office Depot Ford-Dallara in the final race of the 2011 season.

The Frisselles first raced together at the 2.258-mile road course in 2005 while driving for Synergy Racing and started the Mid-Ohio event ninth and finished seventh. Since then, the brothers have competed against one another in the Rolex Series - each having driven for a variety of different teams throughout the years.

Both have had increasingly strong results at Mid-Ohio with Burt scoring the third starting spot in both 2009 and 2010 while driving for AIM Autosport. He scored his best finish at the track last year when he and co-driver Mark Wilkins stood on the podium with a third place result. Brian, who has qualified in the top-five in the last three Mid-Ohio events, matched his best Mid-Ohio finish of fourth in last year's EMCO Gears Classic while driving for Michael Shank Racing.

Burt and Brian last joined forces when Burt was drafted by Doran Racing as a relief driver for the team earlier this year in the New Jersey round when the area experience extremely hot and humid conditions.

Burt has driven for three different teams this year and despite having to adapt to the different engine and chassis combinations has collected four top-five results - including three fourth place finishes.

"I'm very excited to join Doran Racing again and to close out the year with Brian," said Burt. "The team has not had the best racing luck so far this year so hopefully we can give them a great result to finish out the season. I always love coming back to Mid-Ohio and after finishing on the podium last year, it makes me all the more excited to get back out there and go for another one. I want to thank Henri Richard for this opportunity, and we are looking forward to getting going."

Brian has faced some unfortunate racing luck throughout the 2011 season, but drove to a season-best fifth place finish at Virginia International Raceway. He hopes to capture another solid result in Saturday's 2.75-hour race.

"I'm really looking forward to returning to Mid-Ohio," said Brian of the season finale. "We've had some tough luck with some small things that have just kept Doran Racing from bringing home the results that this team is capable of, but hopefully we can turn that around this weekend in front of Doran Racing's home crowd. It's always great to be racing with Burt because our driving styles are so similar, so hopefully we can deliver Doran Racing a great end to the season with a good result."

Together, the duo look to use their combined experience and knowledge of the 13-turn Mid-Ohio road course to make another run for the podium as the 2011 season comes to a close.

The EMCO Gears Classic weekend begins with practice and qualifying on Friday, September 15. The 2.75-hour race is set for a 3:00 PM (ET) start time on Saturday with SPEED carrying live coverage of the event.
