Frisselle Racing Ready to Take Alabama by Storm

(Birmingham, AL) 16 July 2008 – After a night full of “could have beens,” in the last round of Rolex Sports Car Series competition for both Frisselle Racing drivers, the duo enters this weekend’s Porsche 250 presented by Bradly Arant event at Barber Motorsports Park ready to convert their fast pace into some strong results at the finish.

Brian Frisselle was part of an outstanding Daytona run with Mark Wilkins, as the AIM Autosport entry scored the pole and led convincingly, only to have a tire issue send the car spinning and forcing the duo to wait yet again for what seems to be an inevitable run to a Rolex Podium.

The Daytona disappointment for Frisselle Racing was further heightened when Burt, running with Ricky Taylor in the No. 47 Miracle Sealants/CDOC Ford-Dallara prepared by Doran Racing, was called in for a procedural penalty after a restart.

The drive-through penalty, which didn’t allow for any recovery from the ruling, forced the impressive pairing to accept an eleventh place finish, which didn’t show the pace the two had shown all day and night.

As Frisselle Racing looks ahead to the Barber event, both racers are looking to keep the speed the same, but score just a little bit of luck in Sunday’s two hour and forty-five minute contest.

“We couldn’t be knocking on that door any harder!” said Brian Frisselle. “Obviously it was a big disappointment to be on pole, lead, and then have something out of our control basically end our race. But, on the other hand, it gives us a lot of confidence to show the pace that we did, so we just have to keep our focus on what we’ve been doing and hopefully the results will come. The AIM guys have hit their stride with this Gold Ford-Riley, so we just want to keep that up and see what we can take out of this weekend.”

The Taylor/Frisselle No. 47 CDOC machine has never run at Barber, but Burt has plenty of experience on the busy track, and will look to beat the heat this weekend.

“A July weekend in Alabama certainly makes me thankful for the intense training program that Brian and I focus on between races!” said Burt. “It’s going to be a hot one, but obviously it will be the same for everyone so hopefully Ricky and I can use our youth to our advantage and stay cool in the car. We were pleased with the pace we had at Daytona, and I think we could be in even better shape this weekend at Barber with our aero package, but we will be learning the track with this car, so some of the other guys have a pretty big head start on us set up wise. But the Doran guys have been doing a great job, and Ricky and I have worked really well together, so I think we have a good shot this weekend.”

Practice will get underway on Friday, with qualifying set for Saturday at 12:10 PM ET. Sunday’s race will be broadcast by SPEED, starting at 3:00 PM ET.
