Brian Frisselle Ready for Six Hours at Watkins Glen

(Watkins Glen, NY) 01 June 2011 – Just days after completing the Memorial Day Classic at Lime Rock Park, Brian Frisselle heads to Watkins Glen International this weekend for the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen.

The event is the second-longest race on the schedule and marks the half-way point of the 12-race GRAND-AM season. Frisselle, who has competed in the six-hour race for the past six years, looks to use his experience and knowledge of the track to gain an advantage in Round 6 of the championship. He has one win on the short course to his credit (of four career Rolex Series victories) and will look to add a top trophy from the classic Grand Prix circuit to his collection.

Frisselle fondly remembers his podium result at the event in 2009 when he started from third on the grid and drove a remarkable race to finish second, and while last year's race was also a memorable one for the Colorado racer, it is one he does not wish to repeat.

Frisselle shared the seat of Michael Shank Racing's No. 6 Daytona Prototype with co-drivers Michael Valiente and Mark Patterson and after starting seventh, ran solidly in the top-10 throughout the race. Valiente took control of the No. 6 for the final stages of the race, but the Michael Shank Racing Daytona Prototype suffered a devastating fire which left the car destroyed. "Last year's race certainly was not how we wanted it to end up, but I've had some great runs at The Glen and I'm excited to get back," said Frisselle. "I really enjoy the longer races and the Six Hours of the Glen is one race that I really want to win."

Frisselle returns to the facility with Doran Racing for the 2011 running of the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen along with co-driver Henri Richard who leads the MESCO Building For The Future Rookie of the Year Award standings. The two will again join forces behind the wheel of the No. 77 Office Depot Daytona Prototype and could have the added challenge of wet track conditions as a chance of rain is forecasted for Saturday's race.

"Weather is always a factor when we race at Watkins Glen," commented Frisselle. "It will be a challenging race but it's a great event and we hope to have the No. 77 Office Depot machine mixing it up at the front."

The Doran Racing duo returns to on-track action on Friday, June 3 for practice and qualifying with the six-hour race set to begin on Saturday at 1:00 PM (ET). The race will broadcast on tape delay beginning at 4:30 PM (ET) on SPEED.
